Connecting the Dots for Success

Image
CONNECTING THE DOTS FOR SUCCESS Consider your goal with a mental telescope and a mental microscope. What is your end goal and the final step to achieve it? This is the last dot on your map to success, and should be very easy to pinpoint (as most of us dream about achieving our goal on a daily basis). Next, think about exactly what action or change is necessary to take you from where you are now to the first step on your journey to your goal. That is your first dot. First dots can be anything from writing a business plan to taking a coding course to brainstorming ideas. If one or more of your dots are people, do not be afraid to ask for their help in achieving your goal. Being a self sufficient woman is great, but relying solely on yourself to accomplish your goals may lengthen the time to reaching your achievement exponentially. Remember, you are not being weak when you ask for help, you’re being strategic.

Today’s educational institutions set high expectations and demand exceptional commitment. For every hour of class time, a faculty member has to dedicate many hours of preparation that includes individual preparation and re-view, writing notes and lessons plans, and collaborative analysis a...

Faculty Development Program on "Learning Preferences of GEN Z"

Guest lectured session on the topic "Learning preferences of Gen Z" to various faculties from Arts and Engineering background.  CEDREC (GSB) organised this Faculty Development Program on "Passionate Approaches to Teaching and Developing Receptive Teaching Methodologies".      This strong affinity for and usage of interactive e-technology is having effects on learning behaviors of Generation Z. Research has noted that this generation does not respond well to lectures and have become accustomed to interactivity. They prefer to watch a video rather than listen to a lecture to understand different concepts.   They like to learn through simulations and virtual situations where they can interact with their surroundings and learn at their own pace, with a constant feedback system.  As against the traditional approach of learning ‘just-in-case’, they would prefer to use pertinent information and knowledge that is dependent on what a p...
