“ANGLO ” English Gala Event

For many English language learners, speaking is the most difficult part of the language to master. To improve speaking and listening skills of the students collectively encouraging learning interest on English Redington Foundation ELITE Smart Learning Center Thanjavur organised Anglo – English gala programme on 08.12.2017(Friday) at AVVM Sri Pushpam College, Poondi - Thanjavur. It was merely an art, music and play based form presented fantastic opportunities for the students to have discussions, focused language work and skill based activities. There is considerable scientific evidence that demonstrates how music help second language learners acquire grammar and vocabulary and improve spelling. Songs and music almost always contain a lot of useful vocabulary, phrases and expressions. Listening to songs will also allow students to focus on pronunciation and understanding of the English language’s rhythm, tone and beat.

English gala enrolled with various programmes such as Singing English songs, Playing Skit, Book review, Group Discussions, Tribute to poet: Rabindranath Tagore, Sharing interesting facts on English. It created a bridge between written and spoken language. It helps the students to emphasize interpreting and communication of ideas. These type of programmes supports creative thinking, promote high level of analysis and also highlight the similarities and differences of language.

Students were actively engaged in the process that constitute creation and performance in the arts and participate in various roles in the arts. Students were enthusiastically participated in the events and performed their talents first time through English language. 

Mr.S. Manikandan – Chief Trainer welcomed the esteemed guests and Ms.Pavithra – Supplementary trainer assisted the trainer on the event. Dr.R. Siva Kumar – Training and placement officer of AVVM Sri Pushpam college gave a brief note and Dr.Indira Kannan - ROTN Zonal Head of Redington foundation for CSR spoken the special note about English Gala function. Chair person of the function Mr.M.Muthukumarasamy (Managing Trustee and Company Secretary of Redington) interacted with the students and gave a detailed orientation about interview planning.  Special guest of the function Mr. S.Jayaraman (Vice President - Treasury and Investor relations, Redington India Limited) interacted with the students and gave a valuable feedback and guidance with motivational talk.

  

 This method focused on helping students overcome barriers of learning, thus eliminating their feelings of being unsuccessful through integration of the fine arts through English.
